Medium: analogue photography // book project
From the preface:
This is a book about people, not graffiti. And somehow a sociological study.
Snapshots of situations, moments of time. But what about the moments that aren't seen? The ones that
aren't manifested on walls, on the streets, on trains?
This project accompanies eight dortmund-based graffiti writers to formative places of their history
for a short time, let them talk about themselves and their own history, and offers space for people
to learn more about them behind their alter ego than just through their works.
This book is intended as a collection of very personal and authentic portraits, as a memorandum of a
subculture, and as a small reminiscence of past times. To protect the individuals, their full
names and pseudonyms are not mentioned, and it is up to the protagonists themselves to reveal
themselves or not. Neither are they described in detail nor do they express themselves about their
work - those who know, know. Accompanied by photographic observations, a certain atmosphere is
created sometimes diffuse, sometimes metaphorical, sometimes explicit that approaches the
events within this culture, but does not actually depict what is happening or could happen.

Nebel — Bilder über die Nacht, das Verstecken und Verschwinden. Solo Exhibition at Schlegel Kultur Club, Bochum
Parts of the images are borrowed from previous concepts and are rearranged on the occasion of the theme. This work has a strong connection to the subjective, atmospheric view on the graffiti cosmos, to certain moments and impressions before, during, and after the action.

Metaphorical examination of social relationships and the emotional (non-)connection between people. An interpretive play by subtle ambiguity with fragility and intensity, of closeness and distance.
